What are your morning lens 🤓 you put on?
Waking up every morning, we determine how we view our world based on the lens we choose to put on that day.
Every day, I try to tune into my surroundings and environment with the lens of gratitude and appreciation.
Even when I encounter people that annoy me, I try to practice finding something in them that I appreciate or admire. This helps train my brain to focus on the goodness of people rather than the opposite. Stay away from Gossip! It’s a shallow vibrational connection point.
When I focus on only seeing the positive things that are working in my life, the helpful things people do, and the positive things people say, I don’t leave space for anything else.
What lens we choose to wear daily and view the world determines our experience in it 100%. If you’re aware of how easy it is to experience more joy, wouldn’t you want more of that?
So….
Experiment and try, even if your natural default is to find all the things not working, wrong with people, etc., etc. Try it for a day, then two days until you reach a week. Your ego will want you to stay in the fear and negative space because it’s familiar with and comfortable with that mindset. Be aware when it comes up and challenge it immediately.
BREAK THAT CYCLE! It takes a while to break long habits and well-oiled programs that keep you stuck in Smallville. Be kind to yourself.
To eliminate and/or mitigate depression, appreciate all the things right in your life, look for them and focus on the positive. All you need to do is wear different glasses 🤓 with the lens (different perspective) that serves you and your nervous system better in life.
Go ahead! Try it. Be the scientist in your life and experiment with your own happiness and joy. It takes practice, so don’t be too hard on yourself if you default after a couple of hours and start noticing all the bad things in people, places again, etc. It’s just a mirror for how you choose to feel based on habits internally.
Your inner world depends on how you see your outer world – it’s that simple. 💗
How you think and how you feel creates your personal reality. So…
CHECK YOUR STORIES!!
We are all very guilty of the “producing stories”, and no not the Hollywood blockbuster ones either. The ones in your operating system, the brain. You know, the things you think about and the stories that you create in your head sometimes are not even true. Okay, let’s be radically honest here – they’re VERY often not true. So that means you’re spending a lot of time in life managing complicated feelings based on things that don’t even exist!
If you know how to do the math, I challenge you to calculate the amount of time in this life that you have spent upset and managing difficult emotions based on stories that never even existed. Hmm 🤔 who’s guilty? 🙋🏻♀️
Daily, I consciously wake up and choose the lens to wear because I have no interest in giving external forces, people, places, or things such power to affect the way I want to live the rest of my time here. Nothing and no one is worth giving away such power.
Keeping the ‘appreciation glasses’ on takes a lot of practice, however. I’m not going to lie. I have bad days where I pull them off, sometimes intentionally. They fall off a lot, too, and that’s okay. It’s part of the experience, but I’m aware of when it happens, and that’s where growth lies. Be gentle with yourself.
Check-in with your morning glasses 🤓
One of my favorite places on earth – Italy and their northern lakes. Well let’s be honest – anywhere in Italy! Amalfi Coast, Puglia.. I have been a lover of Italy my entire adult life and consider my sensibilities and ways of living very similar to that of old fashioned Italian mommas. I run a tight ship. Family is everything. I believe in tradition and chivalry. Long meals with friends under the stars ✨ and living off the land is un rêve.
Waking up and tuning into this environment is certainly not hard to see the beauty of life and appreciate the surroundings. However, if we are carrying our “stories” that are not true and certainly don’t serve our nervous system, it doesn’t matter what environment you’re in – they travel with you! They’re not biased to geographic borders or 1 start or 5 star life. Check your stories! Change your lens to see and appreciate all the beauty and things you do have in life 🎯
I always gravitate towards water and have to live near horizons, hear the birds and see the sun rise and set. That’s magic ✨ When these elements are in place, I never have a bad day! One simply doesn’t live the same.
Tune into your senses – smell, hear, feel, see and taste – to live a fully sensual life. It’s the best way to be fully present and alive in the moment vs being in autopilot robotic states.
I include my senses everyday in my grateful prayers 🙏🏻 that I still have this ability to tune into them. Most of these senses dim as we age, disappearing sometimes all together, so be grateful every moment you still have them. Don’t take them for granted. They are truly a gift to exist alive in this world.
Life is just GOOD 😊
Some nights are pure magic like this one ☝🏻 Even when they aren’t – CREATE IT! Remember when we were kids and we created forts and magic? Never stop doing that… I still make forts, albeit adult ones, but I make them. Always play!
I’m obsessed with lightening and thunderstorms 🌩️ I find them so extremely exciting! One was coming here and I waited for it. Dancing in the rain is a real thing for me.
I find friends everywhere! If there is an animal, I can’t pass by without loving 🥰 on them, asking their name and history. This usually happens before I even notice or acknowledge their owners. Ha! Priorités.
Find a reason to dance 💃 everywhere! Every time! It’s moving and vibrating through time and space.
An absolute favorite 🤩
What lens are you using when you look out into the world?
Always obsessed with windows and doors 🚪
Nature’s beauty 🤩
Walk in your life like this is your garden 🪴
Moment in time ✨
Find your path. Doesn’t exist? Create it!
Look at these colors! Oh my 🌸🌺🌷
Look at the beauty that surrounds you. Use all your senses to be there FULLY!
I try to see the sunset 🌅 and say thanks for the gift 🎁 of that day, everyday, wherever I am. Okay maybe with a glass of nice wine 🍷
